1. Information We Collect

When you use Solar Battery Advisor (battery.energyscout.org), we may collect:

• Zip code — to determine your utility territory and eligible incentive programs
• Email address — only if you voluntarily provide it to receive your assessment
• Name and phone number — only if you voluntarily provide them in the contact form
• Usage data — anonymous analytics via Google Analytics and Meta Pixel

We do not collect Social Security numbers, financial account information, or sensitive personal data.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To determine which battery incentive programs you qualify for
• To generate your personalized battery recommendation and savings estimate
• To send you your assessment results via email (if requested)
• To improve our tools and content

3. Sharing Your Information

If you explicitly opt in by checking "Match me with a local installer," we may share your contact information with local solar/battery installation companies in our network. This checkbox is not pre-selected — you must actively opt in.

We may share anonymous, aggregated data that cannot identify individuals.

4. Data Storage & Security

Data is stored securely using Supabase (hosted on AWS) with encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest.

5. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing hello@energyscout.org.

6. California Residents (CCPA)

California residents have the right to know what data we collect and to request deletion. We do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA. Contact hello@energyscout.org for CCPA requests.

7. Cookies & Tracking

We use Google Analytics and Meta Pixel for anonymous usage analytics. You can opt out via browser settings or the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
